We’ve had a busy couple of weekends recently. Two weeks ago we went to the Biggin Hill Air Show and were treated to a spectacular air show that included a special fly past by a Virgin Atlantic jumbo jet. They were celebrating their 25th anniversary. The fly past included the Red Arrows. It was an incredible sight to see.

There were also an Apache attack helicopter which was scary looking without all it’s armour. It must look menacing with all it’s guns and missles. Other highlights were the displays by the Eurofighter Typhoon, BAE Systems Hawk, Hurricane, Spitfire, the Matadors (Sukhoi SU26), the Stratotanker (a massive US refueler).

The red arrows themselves put on a brilliant display at the end of the day, and I have plenty of photos and some video of their show, but overall the 2009 Biggin Hill Air Show was awesome. You can find the rest of the photosgraphs in our photo gallery.
