After experiencing Android on the Surface Pro 3 recently, I thought I would give it a try out on my 7 year old iMac, so I installed DuOS, a program that appears to be compatible with Windows 7, 8.1 & of 10.
AMIDuOS is nothing less than the full Android experience, with all the features that the latest version of the popular mobile operating system has to offer. It runs fast, looks crisp and sharp and performs with no limitations – because it is 100% native Android running on your Windows hardware!
Obviously my iMac 21″, Duo Core from 2007 is not a touch screen, but so what! the mouse works where the fingers would have normally worked and it is flawless. Even when the screen is locked, dragging the mouse up unlocks Android. Flicking left or right is replaced with dragging the mouse left or right. It was quite strange at first, but one soon gets use to it.
Using my Google Android account on a iMac brings an entirely new dimension to being on-line everywhere. I don’t have to have my phone or tablet next to me any more as I can see Whatsapp, Telegram, Skype, Facebook, Sky, Play, Google+, Messenger and Google Hangouts messages the second they appear in the notifications bar at the top of the window.
Strangely when I opened the Google+ App in Android, I see a lot more posts full screen than when I open Google+ through Chrome on my Windows 10. See above and below at the difference, so actually one gets a better experience with Android loaded.
Overall I am really liking DuOS. I haven’t activated the licence yet as I have 24 more days left of my trial, but it is looking very positive so far.
