With my Mom in town alone and Jo working, we decided to visit a National Trust gem, Scotney Castle. This 14th-century moated castle also has a Victorian country mansion on the property.

It was a perfect spring day and surprisingly hot. Walking around the vast gardens of Scotney Castle was quite tiring, but we were rewarded with lovely views of the old castle ruin, moat and pretty gardens.

It was a total coincidence, but around the same time as our visit to Scotney Castle, I was listening to an audio book titled The tomb of the Chatelaine, and they were describing a location that I felt I had visited, and when I looked up the book, look what I found?
