- Write down three things you’re grateful for.
- Being alive to experience the 1980’s, 1990’s, 2000’s, 2010’s, and 2020’s. So much change!
- family, friends, colleagues, and teammates.
- Good health.
- Refuse once a week.
- You don’t need to be Mr Helpful every time someone asks you for help. Push back, say No!
- Exercise for a minute when you wake up.
- Raise your legs.
- Push-ups.
- Planking.
- Invest in experiences.
- Objects vs Experiences. (Gadgets vs holiday experiences).
- We remember experiences.
- Objects like a GoPro help us to remember experiences.
- Organise your home.
- Have designated areas for things.
- Throw things away to create space.
- We collect too much stuff we don’t need.
- Manage your money.
- Know where your money is coming from and going to?
- Know what one is spending money on.
- Have a plan, and a spreadsheet to keep track of everything.
- Manage and talk about your money to your partner every week and month.
- Invest your money, don’t let it sit idle.
- Stand up every hour.
- Use your standing desk if you have one.
- Get up and move around.
- Follow this simple proverb… “When we have no head, we have legs”.
- This is about forgetting something.
- Do what needs to be done.
- Don’t stress about forgetting something.
- Ask open-ended questions.
- Why, where, when, who, what, which?
- It helps keep the conversation going.
- Turn off Notifications
- Turn off your phone notifications for an hour.
- Prepare your clothes… the night before.
- If one is not leaving the house every day, wear the same clothes again. No one is going to know and you’ll save water & electricity.
- Watch the news less.
- There is no need to watch the mainstream media every day. Most of the news is negative for a reason.
- Drink more water.
- It is great for your health.
- Discover one new thing a month.
- New topic.
- Read a new book.
- Try out something with your hands.
- YouTube is a great source of know-how.
- Make your bed.
- This is an obvious task or habit to get into every day. I did a blog on this earlier in the year (see Ten steps to changing the world.).
- Spend a minute a day with yourself.
- No phone, tablet, or computer.
- You and your thoughts.
- Talk to yourself.
- Ask yourself whether what you’re doing is worth it.
- Is this action worth it?
- If a task takes 2 minutes, do it right away.
- Take care of your posture.
- Stand up straight.
- Sit up straight.
- Read/Listen for 15 minutes a day.
- Read or listen to anything.
- Listen to the radio or a good talk show host.
